When we say sailing we all have our own associations...
Some imagine azure waters, a boat swaying gently on the waves, white sails, perhaps even delicious food and a glass of Italian wine.
Others envision the start of the regatta, the moment when the signal is seconds away and the crew stands in their positions, and there's the eagerly awaited "beep" and everything goes into motion, the captain gives the command, the winches tighten, the whips are drawn to breaking point, the sails catch the wind and the boat crosses the invisible but very important line in the water. The moment of launch is a splash of pure adrenaline. Whether it's long or short, professional or just amateur racing, the moment of the start is always very emotional.
Perhaps for some the sailing will bring to mind a picture of the ocean crossing... of fantastic sunrises and sunsets, the measured flow of life on a boat offshore, the amazing incredible starry night sky. But the ocean is different and there are waves above the boat and wind and thunderstorms in the dark of night. Sailing is different for everyone, for some it is enough for once and for others it lasts a lifetime. But definitely sea and sail do not leave anyone indifferent.
There is an expression "do not joke with the sea". And it is 100% true. To make your love of the sea and sailing happy and mutual, you need to understand all the processes, be prepared for different situations and have well-tested skills. When you know and understand what is happening at any given moment, the likelihood of error is minimal. And most importantly, there is no panic, fear or doubt. You just KNOW what you have to do and how to do it right. The advice I got at the beginning of my yachting journey was very valuable - learn everything, sail with different skippers, on different boats and you'll have a versatile experience. Sail a lot and in different weather conditions, then you'll know how it is in reality. Read the theory, but spend more time in practice. Good advice from a smart and experienced skipper.
We invite you to spend your time on the boat in an interesting, fascinating and exciting way.
