The dates and the expedition program

Leg 1 - Azores, Ponta Delgada - Madeira, Portugal
The passage is approximately 530 nautical miles. We depart from Ponta Delgada, Azores, and sail across the Atlantic to the beautiful island of Madeira. The passage normally takes around 4–5 days, depending on the weather. There are direct flights from Madeira to the UK and many European cities.

Leg 2 - Madeira, Portugal - Tangier, Morocco
The passage is approximately 650 nautical miles. We depart from Madeira and sail across the Atlantic approaches before passing through the iconic Strait of Gibraltar and finishing in Tangier, Morocco. This is a fantastic offshore passage, combining open ocean sailing with one of the world's most famous shipping routes. The passage is expected to take 5–6 days, depending on the weather and sailing conditions. There are convenient flights from Tangier to the UK and many European cities.

If you need to apply a Schengen visa, we can prepare and send you a confirmation of participation.

Meals ashore and travel expenses to and from ports are not included.
PLEASE NOTE: As a long-distance trip, the crew will be operating a watch system. This normally means that a crew is split up and alternates being on / off watch. Often it's 4hr shifts with shorter shifts from 16.00-18.00 and 18.00-20.00 to ensure that you are not always on watch at the same time of day/night. Offshore yacht sailing can be difficult, and every crew member must fully acknowledge their physical condition and experience and take responsibility for all their actions on the boat.
