The RORC Transatlantic Race is organized by the well-known Royal Ocean Racing Club. This offshore race span almost 2 weeks, so participation will involve both daytime and nighttime sailing.

Arrival to Lanzarote / meeting with a crew
Participants' arrival, followed by boarding the vessel. Accommodation options include staying aboard the boat or at a nearby hotel close to the marina.

Training day
A day dedicated to acquainting ourselves with the vessel and engaging in on-water training. We'll focus on honing our skills in setting and adjusting sails, navigating the boat, and executing maneuvers. At day's end, the skipper will allocate roles to the team based on their performance during training.

Boat preparation / F&B
Preparing the boat for the ocean race ahead. This involves stocking up on provisions for the entire crew, conducting thorough checks of the sails, and ensuring all boat systems are in optimal condition.

The much-anticipated start day for the epic 2,995 nautical mile race across the vast Atlantic Ocean, from east to west.

Finish in Grenada, Caribbean island

When you book onto this race you are fully committing yourself, you are not a passenger on this boat. We really feel strongly that this is your boat to race and we facilitate that in every way we can. There will be only 5 people in the crew, and the result of this race will depend on each crew member!

Meals ashore and travel expenses to and from ports are not included.
PLEASE NOTE: As a long-distance race, the crew will be operating a watch system. This normally means that a crew is split up and alternates being on / off watch. Often it's 4hr shifts with shorter shifts from 16.00-18.00 and 18.00-20.00 to ensure that you are not always on watch at the same time of day/night. Offshore yacht racing can be difficult, and every crew member must fully acknowledge their physical condition and experience and take responsibility for all their actions on the boat.
