/BENETEAU FIRST 40
We are the proud owners of two Beneteau First 40’s which we have optimised to provide the very best performance possible.
The new two-spreader racing masts are stiffer and lighter than the original cruising versions which improves righting moment and performance. We are also installing new, deep-draft keels which will improve lateral resistance and enhance the upwind and reaching performance of both boats.
These boats are now great racing yachts with good IRC ratings making them highly competitive. Whether it is club, national or international races we are sure that our boats will give you a performance edge over other charter options.
The Solent area is an incredibly rich and diverse part of Hampshire. Here one can discover the valuable legacy of the past, the gorgeous present and the bright upcoming future. Whilst yachting is what Bridge Sailing is all about, we want our clients to have a fabulous overall experience when they visit our area.
This page aims to provide you with some insights into local life and what Portsmouth and Gosport (where Bridge Sailing is based) have to offer.
For hundreds of years, The Solent has been a major shipping lane for freight, military and passenger vessels. Steeped in nautical history, the area boasts a wide range of unique experiences. Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard is home to Nelson’s HMS Victory and The Mary Rose whilst Gosport has The Explosion Museum and Submarine Museum. More modern attractions include The Spinnaker Tower for amazing Solent views and Gunwharf Quays – one of the UK’s most successful shopping centres. The Isle of Wight is just a 15 minute ride away, by fast ferry or by hovercraft from the Southsea beach.

We have been out in the Solent with Bridge Sailing a few times sailing back a forth between Gosport and Cowes. Has been great fun on their 40f beneteau named Jazz. We are total beginners but have felt very safe with our tutor onboard.

Dear Athanasius and Masha, thank you for the high level of organization of the 6000 miles passage from Cape Town to Antigua on the board of stunning Weddell. The unique opportunity landing on the amazingly beautiful Saint Helena Island was a great bonus! For 60 yeas, I have dreamed of visiting this remote island!
I only regret about one thing that I could not contact you 5 years ago and take part in many tremendous voyages in the Pacific and Southern Oceans.

I can highly recommend Bridge sailing for a great day out on the water. We had a lovely day sailing in the Solent stopping over in Cowes for a late lunch. It’s a family owned business, and the skippers are friendly, experienced, safe and happy to tailor your trip as needed. Their day trips are perfect if you want to practice your sailing skills, like me, but can’t commit to the entire weekend. It would also suit someone who wants to try out sailing and learn a new skill or just chill and have a relaxing day on a boat. Thank you Bridge Sailing Team, I will definitely be back soon for some more sailing!
